The Chambers Suite

The Chambers Suite

The Chambers Suite is named for the original owner and builder of the home, John Chambers Dr., a prominent Hamden business man who lived here with his wife Fanny and their three daughters.

The Chambers Suite offers guests a queen sized bed with soft yet crisp bedding and cozy feather comforter, a sitting area by the front window, an en suite bath with a shower, and is decorated in rich burgundies and greens complemented by the warm, restored, original woodwork and hardwood floors. There is seasonal air conditioning.

Around the room, guests will find a treasure trove of historical items that will keep one’s curiosity piqued.

Elegant Accommodations

With the top hat, gloves, and spectacles one can imagine a grand black-tie affair. Seeing the lace up boots and several cases, you can think of a long journey by horse and carriage to the next town over.

The Innkeepers simply cherish the area’s history and love to share it with their guests. In fact, you will uncover pieces of history throughout the home – making for good conversation over a meal or a drink.

In addition to the large bedroom, the Chambers Suite includes a separate Den with a television, love seat, and many games, and private sun porch that overlooks Main Street.

The rate for the Chambers Suite is $145.00 plus 8% sales tax per couple, per night. This rate includes a delicious homemade breakfast of various entrees, fresh fruit, fresh baked goods and muffins, as well as juices, coffee and tea. You may dine each morning in the formal dining room, or in warmer weather, on the wrap-around veranda.
